Subjunktionen: weil

Learn subordinating clauses using weil and word order changes.

The subjunction weil (because) is used to express reasons. It starts a subordinate clause.

1. Word Order Rule (Verb-Endstellung)

In a subordinate clause started by weil, the conjugated verb must go to the very end of the clause!

2. Examples

Hauptsatz: Ich lerne Deutsch. Ich wohne in Berlin.
Nebensatz: Ich lerne Deutsch, weil ich in Berlin wohne.
