Passiv Präsens

Understand the present tense passive voice using the auxiliary verb werden.

The passive voice focuses on the action rather than the actor.

1. Structure

Form of werden (conjugated in position 2) + Partizip II (at the end)

• werden conjugation:
• ich werde, du wirst, er/sie/es wird, wir werden, ihr werdet, sie/Sie werden

2. Examples

• Aktiv: Der Koch kocht die Suppe.
• Passiv: Die Suppe wird gekocht.
